Update on theTopper Traveller 2016

The first Topper Traveller weekend was hosted by East Down Yacht Club (EDYC) on Sunday 10th of April.

Three races were held on the Sunday in strong South Easterly conditions, circa 18 to 22 knots with 47 entries. Thankfully the rain held off and the blue sky and sunshine made for a pleasant but cold day on the water.

 

 

 

Adult Sail Training HELP NEEDED!

The National Yacht Club is about to embark on a totally new approach to Adult Sail Training from early May this year, and your help is needed.

The new course is 10 weeks long, and volunteers are needed for each Tuesday and Sunday afternoon. The team we will use on each session of the course will comprise 3 paid instructors plus 2 to 4 volunteers. Boats used will be the new Wayfarers, Ventures, and our 1720s.

Volunteers are required to cover several areas, and these are outlined below.

As you can see, we need lots of people…Tuesday evenings and Sundays. Don’t worry if you will be away for some of it

To volunteer, just reply to this email indicating your preferred Role Type(s), and we will be in touch with you next week.

(Basic rib instruction will be provided)

Don’t think about it, just do it!…your club needs you.

Report on ISA Youth Pathway National Championships 2016

A Clean Sweep for NYC Girls in the single handed classes at ISA Youth Pathway National Championships 2016 and Optimist Trials 2016

The first major youth sailing event of the year was held in Howth last weekend. NYC girls dominated bringing home all of the single handed first girl prizes. 

3 NYC Optimist sailors win places on the European Team 2016

The Optimist Trials took place in Howth from 31st March until 3rd April.

Conor Gorman, Fiona Ferguson and Leah Rickard won places on the European Team that will travel to Italy in July 2016!!
