Davy N.Y.C. Junior Regatta – Wednesday 13th July – NOR / Entry Form / SIs

The National Yacht Club is hosting its annual Davy Junior Regatta on Wednesday 13th July.

 Entry Fee:
 – €15 for single-handed boats
 – €25 for 2-handed boats

Registration will take place on Tuesday 12th 17:00 to 18:30 and on Wednesday 14th July 08:15 – 09:00 at the NYC Race Office. Competitors briefing 09:15

Launching for both fleets is scheduled to commence at 10:00hrs with the first warning signal for the Harbour Fleet at 10:45 and the Main Fleet at 11:15.

3 races are scheduled.

Good Luck Lauren

Best of luck to the NYC’S Lauren O’Callaghan who will be travelling this week to compete in The Youth World Sailing Championships in the Hague in the 29er Class, commencing on the 8th of July with Emily Conan (RSGYC).

Lauren got a big NYC send off from the Commodore Conor O’Regan and all the Juniors and Instructors on Course 2.

Great fun at Sailability Junior Summer Course

The NYC held its first post-Covid week-long Sailability Summer Course for 8-17 year-olds from 20th – 24th June.   In fantastic weather with plenty of sunshine Sailability junior sailors had a great week of sailing and boating.   Thanks to the great team of instructors and volunteers there was plenty of fun alongside the learning.  The pictures say it all….Click Here

2022/2023 TY Programme Expression of Interest Form

The TY Sailing Members Program has run for a number of years now, very successfully between the Dun Laoghaire clubs and has proved to be a great way to keep our teenagers involved in sailing, prepare them for instructing and build lifelong friendships so we really hope they get involved.

The main social parts are an Action and Adventure Course, 1720 sailing, Team Racing, Tall Ships, Heir Island Trip, B-Academy and Flossy & The Beach Cleaners.

The Certified Courses are the Powerboat Licence, Navigation, VHF Licence, Mark Laying, Child Safeguarding, First Aid and Disability Awareness.

Instructor Support Administrator

We are currently seeking an Instructor administrator to support our summer courses.  

Enthusiasm, good communication skills, responsibility, safety, computer literacy, experience of Regatta management and an ability manage spreadsheets are the key attributes required. Valid Irish Sailing Garda vetting, Safeguarding one and First Aid are essential qualifications required. The position is for up to two weeks during the period of July 4-15. Expressions of interest to by 1700 on Fri June 24th.

Following a long Covid-enforced absence, Dun Laoghaire Sailability makes a welcome return for Summer 2022, with continued NYC involvement through its volunteer team.
