SBSS Instructor CPD Revalidation workshops

Coach support for The Nationals for Optimist main fleet sailors

The NYC together with the RSGYC are providing coaching support for our main fleet optimist sailors taking part in the Nationals in Lough Derg from Monday the 15th August to Friday the 19th August. NYC Ladies Squads success at Cork Week

Our NYC Ladies Squad were invited to Cork Week this year as part of the Try Sailing/Women on the Water initiative and we rose to the challenge. RCYC provided us with a 1720 and a warm welcome!

Lots of fun was had with great racing in Cork Harbour, staying on site in camper vans, delicious local seafood, fantastic onshore entertainment with music and fireworks and even dolphins to escort us in on the last day. We also won our first trophy coming second in our class!

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 NYC Members in contention for podium results as KBC Laser Radial Worlds enters final stage

With just 2 days of racing to go, Ronan Wallace is currently lying 4th overall in the Laser Radial World Championships (out of 42 entries) with only 4 points separating him from 3rd place and 8 points from 2nd place on the podium!

Meanwhile, in the Girls Class, Nicole Hemeryck is also lying in 4th position (in a 76 entries class)  ONLY 1 point behind third overall but seemingly too far behind second place…

Finally, NYC cadets Ronan Walsh and Daniel Raymond are respectively laying in very respectable the positions 56th and 61st in the incredibly hotly contested  Boys class boasting no less than 229 entries!!!

NYC David Gorman & Chris Doorly Defend Flying Fifteen Title at Cushendall

Congratulations to David Gorman & Chris Doorly who successfuly defended their Irish Flying Fifteen Title after three days of competition at Cushendall SC in County Antrim. Three race wins from six sailed gave Dave and Chris a clear lead in a fleet of 21. Second were club mates Ian Mathews and Keith Poole with Strangford Lough’s Hammy Baker and Charlie Horder third.
