Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta – 6th to 9th July 2017

Notice of Race and Online Entry are now available for the 7th edition of the Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta which will celebrate 200 years of Dun Laoghaire harbour 1817 – 2017.

All Entries received and paid for in full by 31st December 2016 will automatically be entered into a ‘Super Early Bird Prize Draw’ and 10% of these lucky people will have their entry fee refunded!

People of the Year Awards organised by REHAB and broadcast live in RTE One

The 2016 People of the Year Awards will take place at a Gala Dinner on Saturday 3rd December next at CityWest Hotel, Saggart, Co Dublin when it will be broadcast live by RTE One.

These Awards recognise the extraordinary achievements of people throughout Ireland for their contribution to society; their commitment and stamina and, above all, their amazing courage. The People of the Year Awards, organized by Rehab, are Ireland’s national honours system for people who have made a difference. The best way to get a feel for the awards is to see them in reality and this short video will give you a taste of the ceremony itself and of the superb calibre of the award winners.

This year, the wonderful achievements of Annalise Murphy are being celebrated with an Award.

Niall Coleman & Michael Quinn comfortably win NYC F15 Frostbite Series

15 Flying Fifteen entered the NYC 2016 Frostbite series but, though the series was open to them to join as well, no Moth took part.

Race Officer  Ian Mathews and his team of volunteers to made the most of the challenging conditions encountered over 5 weeks, ranging from no wind to established 27 knts, but seemingly with no “middle of the range” winds!

Niall Coleman and Michael Quinn easily dominated the eager pack behind them, winning 6 out of the 7 races disputed and discarding a 2nd place! Read the full post for full results.

NYC members to collect 34 overall series wins and trophies at DBSC annual Prizegiving

The National Yacht Club would like to congratulate all its members who raced with distinction in the Dublin Bay Sailing Club various classes and series, from the Junior September Series to the Thursday and Saturday series across all classes.

Annalise will also be presented with the “Viking Trophy” for Notable Contribution to Sailing…

The Club’s annual general meeting takes place on Monday the 28th November  in the Royal St. George Yacht Club at 8pm.
