Irish Feva Nationals

The McCready Sailboats Irish RS Feva Nationals, hosted by Greystones Sailing Club took place from July 18th – 20th. The event was sailed mid-week this year in order to attract as many young sailors as possible – this proved successful with 38 boats turning out to compete in the event.

Finn Lynch talks to our juniors

On Thursday the 21st July, our Juniors were delighted to welcome Finn Lynch for a talk on his sailing experience leading up to the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Finn began sailing aged 8 and went on to represent Ireland across the globe as a youth sailor. In Toppers; he finished 2nd and 4th place at the World Championships in 2009/2010 and was the first Irish sailor to win the British Nationals.

Crosbie Cup 2016

Three NYC juniors took part in the 2016 Crosbie Cup which was hosted by Lough Ree Yacht Club over the weekend of 16th 17th July. Over 50 sailors took part in the annual event where there were six races in Main fleet and eight races in Regatta fleet, the wind conditions were breezy with plenty of capsizes on the first day. The sailors representing the NYC were David Corcoran and Zoe Hall who sailed in the Junior Main Fleet and Billy Mc Carthy who sailed in Regatta Fleet.

RS Feva Pre-Nationals Coaching – Saturday 16th July

The NYC will be providing pre-regatta coaching on Saturday 16th July. for RS Feva sailors planning to do the Nationals. The cost of the training is €20 per person / €40 per boat. Register Here

Optimist Pre Event Coaching for the Nationals

 Pre-Event Coaching for the Nationals – Thursday the 11th and Friday the 12th August.

For those main fleet sailors who will be taking part in the Nationals in Lough Derg from the 15th to the 19th August there are two days of pre event training scheduled for Thursday the 11th and Friday the 12th August, cost is €30 per session.
