NYC Regatta 2016 – Commodore’s Report & Results

Our 2016 Regatta which is the highlight of our Sailing Calendar, proved to be a most successful and enjoyable event both on and off the water. We had a record number of boat entries at 180, which was very encouraging considering we would have lost some boats and crew to the Round Ireland Race.
We were blessed with the weather considering the Friday before and the very wet Sunday, and we had perfect sailing conditions for all courses. The feedback from the race courses was very positive and this was the first time that we ran two back to back races on Course A, and this format worked very well and was welcomed and praised by the sailors.

Something Else wins prestigious Silver Marine Scottish Series – IRC Class 2

John & Brian Hall’s J109 ‘Something Else’ won the IRC Class 2 in the prestigious Scottish Series in a highly competitive fleet featuring boats from northwest Europe.

This was an incredibly tight class across the whole weekend and it couldn’t have ended any closer with just one point separating the top three boats. John and Brian Hall pulled out all the stops on Something Else to net a second and third which was enough to top of the table and also bring home the Causeway Cup awarded to the entry which in the opinion of the Race Committee gave the best performance of the IRC classes in the Series. Full results here
