Junior Summer Courses 2019 Dates / Plans

Junior Summer Courses 2019 – Dates / Plans

The summer course dates for our two week ISA sailing courses in 2019 are as follows:
Course 1:     Tues 4th – Fri 14th June
Course 2:     Mon 17th – Fri 28th June
Course 3:     Mon 1st – Fri 5th July
Course 4:     Mon 15th July – Fri 26th July
Course 5:     Mon 29th July –Fri 9th Aug  

We will be running the full suite of ISA levels over each two week course (Start Sailing, Basic Skills, Improving Skills, Racing, Advanced Boat handling, Adventure

Please note there will not be any sailing course on the second week in July as the Volvo Dun Laoghaire week is July 11-14th

WONDERFUL SPEAKERS SUPPER HEARS TALES OF TOM DOLAN’S FIGARO SOLO RACE

NYC members and guests were spellbound listening to Solo sailor Tom Dolan give a blow by blow account of his recent Figaro single handed race experience.

This is one of the series of exciting Speakers Suppers being run by your House Committee – Peter Doran, Larry Power and team.

Christmas Wine Supper – Wednesday 5th December

Our popular Wine Supper is on Wednesday 5th December at 8pm. 

This is the perfect Opportunity to try some new wines for over the Christmas festival

Alan Green & Chris Doorly Win Flying Fifteen Frostbite Series

In near perfect conditions for the month of November, fifteen Flying Fifteens turned out at the weekend on what was dubbed ‘Super Saturday’ with six races for the conclusion of the NYC Flying Fifteen Frostbite Series.

Alan and Chris easily won the series with an 18pts overall net margin of 16pts over 2nd placed Stuart Harrison/Tim Sheard.

Alan Dooley / Joe Hickey complete the podium in a tightly fought battle for 3rd overall on equal points (40) with the 4th boat after tie-break and only 1pt ahead of 5th overall!!
