Midweek Nippers 2019 – Registration now open!

We have just opened the nipper’s course to potential members introduced to the NYC by an existing member as their one course to try (once per family). The course cost €100, but there will be an additional charge for this courses of €50. 

In May and June every year the Club runs coaching sessions one evening a week for Minors from 6 to 8 years old.

This is very popular and is a great way, particularly for children and parents to make new friends.
The sailing is done in Optimists and no boat is required..
Starting on Wednesday 22nd of May for 6 weeks (until 26th June) and running from 1730 to 1930. The cost is €100 per child. Registrations are currently only open to Full and Family members.CHILDREN MUST BE AGED BETWEEN 6y AND 8y at the start of the Nippers programme!

Optimist Ulster’s (Skerries) – Main fleet Coach support

The club will be providing coach support for the event, for Main Fleet Sailors

  • Cost €50 for the 2 days
  • Limited to 8 sailors
  • Please register by Friday 17th May
  • This program is not open to sailors in the ‘Regatta Fleet’, as they receive coaching from IODAI.

Adult Sail Training – Registrations Now Open for Course starting 3rd Week May 2019

Registrations are now open for our 1st Adult Sail Training Course of 2019 running in May / June.

You can choose either Monday or Wednesday night: 

– 6 sessions, starting on Monday 20th May evening (meeting from 5.30pm to 9pm)
– 6 sessions, starting on Wednesday 22th May evening (meeting from 5.30pm to 9pm)

For quality of tuition and to maximise active participation of the candidates, we limit the courses to 15 participants per session…So be quick to register!!

We offer various discount schemes to members and returning participants. You can also join the National Yacht Club and avail of one Adult Sailing Course for free.

Success for the NYC Topper Fleet in Cork – next stop, Blessington

A hardy bunch of Topper sailors went down to Cork as part of the overall NYC fleet attending the ISA Youth Nationals event in RCYC, and acquitted themselves very well despite the challenging conditions – a distinct excess of wind on Friday and Saturday, followed by the wind almost disappearing on Sunday!

Optimist Ulster’s (Skerries) – NYC Pre-Event Main fleet coaching

The club intends to provide a weekend of pre-event coaching ahead of the Optimist Ulsters, run from the club, for Main Fleet sailors.

  • Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May.
  • Cost – €60
  • Times 9:30am-4:40pm
  • Max number 8
  • Please register by Monday 13th May
  • This program is not open to sailors in the ‘Regatta Fleet’, as they receive coaching from IODAI.
