NYC Walking Group

Just to advise there will be NO National walks in February or March this year.

Our next walk will be on 5th April doing the Dublin Mountain Way from Shankill to the Scalp and back.

We have done this the last couple of years and will meet at Brady’s pub at 10.45am.

Full details will be issued a week or so beforehand at the end of March.

Nicholas Reeser won the Laser Radial fleet by 18 points

After 4 days of tight races Nicholas Reeser won the Laser Radial fleet by 18 points, dropping a 4th in race 1. After starting the regatta strong in 2nd after the first day and then taking the lead after 3 bullets on the 2nd day. He held on to the lead in the Gold fleet and won the last race.

Evening Presentation ‘Top Tips for Sailors’ – Thursday 6th February @7.30pm in NYC

Barry Hayes from UK Sailmakers is presenting his very popular talk on ‘Top Tips for Sailors’ in the National Yacht Club on Thursday 6th February from 7.30pm

The presentation will be in 2 parts:

Part A: Racing / Cruising boat optimisation
Part B: Learn to service your deck hardware (winches and cars, both manual or electric versions)

Attendance is FREE. Places are limited to 80 so RSVP here absolutely essential!!

NYC Sesquicentennial Celebrations Commence

The first of the new year Wine suppers, held on Wednesday January 15th, kicked off the Club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

This follows the launching at Christmas of the splendid Sesquicentennial Anniversary Gin and Wines, which have been hugely popular with fellow members.

Post Commodore Ronan Beirne chairs the Sesquicentennial Organizing Committee and its remit covers House, Sailing, Building and Legacy aspects.

There are very exciting plans for major House events during the year – with the highlights below.

On the Water, the Sesquicentennial Regatta, supported by Davy, will be a major 5 day gathering, the Notice of Race for which has been put together by Race Director Con Murphy and his team.

DBSC Spring Chicken Series 2020

Sunday 2th February – Sunday 8th March 2020

A series of six races to be held on Sunday mornings from 2nd February to 8th March organised by Dublin Bay Sailing Club.

Entry fee is €60.00 – including temporary membership of D.B.S.C. and the National Y.C.  After sailing, food will be available to competitors in the National Y.C.

First gun 10.10 hrs
