Winter Dinghy Platform Parking – Online Application Form

Application for platform parking for dinghies this winter is a true application process (whereby your application may be denied or put on hold until priority groups are catered for) as space is very limited on the platform. We hope that we will be able to cater for all, if not for most, applicants….please read the full post.

 

NYC Winter Social Programme

It’s that time of year again folks!  The launch of the NYC Winter Programme 2021

  • Our ever popular Wine Supper evenings commence on Wednesday 13th October and continue on a fortnightly basis thereafter.
  • The Bar Table Quiz, always an entertaining night starts on Wednesday 20th October and again, fortnightly after that.
  • Ladies Lunch will also re-start in October – date to be confirmed
  • New members dinner – Friday 12th November
  • And one for the kiddies, Santa’s visit is planned for Sunday 6th December.

Report from Opi Munsters

Great performance from the National Yacht Club optimist sailors last weekend with 2 fleet winners (senior main fleet and regatta fleet) for the Munster Championships in Cork Harbour!

9 National Yacht Club sailors took part in the last optimist regional event of the season, was hosted by Monkstown Bay Sailing Club and launched from Paddy’s Point slipway in Ringaskiddy. 
The 126 sailors had great conditions with 15kts on Saturday and 16-22kts on Sunday and blue sky!

In the main fleet senior (35 boats), William Walsh NYC came 1st overall with a 9 point lead. Hannah Walsh, 3rd in silver fleet and 17th overall. 

In the main fleet junior (50 boats), Louise Hanley came 3rd in silver fleet, Félix Dion, 9th in silver and Lucas Browne, 13th silver.  

In the regatta fleet (41 boats), Basile Dion came 1st overall, Max Neary, 2nd bronze and 4th overall.  Our youngest NYC Sailor Aurèle Dion finished 4th the bronze fleet and 6th overall, and was the youngest saucer at the event too, and Louis Trikett finished 7th in the silver fleet.

Fantastic results, well done all!

Topper Winter 2021 Club Training Programme

Details for our Topper Winter Training Programme are as follows:
Training will be on Sundays Oct 10th, Oct, 24th, Oct 31st, Nov 7th, Nov 14th, Nov 21st, Nov28th.

– Beginners: 9.30am – 12.30pm
– Intermediate: 1pm – 4pm
– Advanced: 1pm – 4pm

– Cost is €175 for the 7 sessions. 8 Club Toppers are available to charter at an extra €90 for the 7 sessions
– Max 8 sailors per group.

All sailors and parents will sign a code of conduct to encourage good behaviour: Code-of-Behaviour
