Optimist Spring 2018 Club Training Programme

The NYC has an exciting Optimist Spring 2018 Training Programme starting on Sunday 4th February and running for 6 Sundays with a mid-term break.

Dates:
Sundays: February 4th, February 25th, March 4th, March 11th, March 18th, March 25th. Time:12:30-16:30 / Price : €120.

TY 2017-2018 Programme – Block 2 (Laser/Feva Coaching) Registrations Now Open

Block 2 (Laser and RS Feva Coaching) activities are moving to Saturday Afternoons (13:30 to 17:00), starting Saturday 24th February!

The cost is €80 per participant ex. charter fees for Club RS Fevas (€60 per boat) if applicable

Junior safety Talk at the NYC Sunday 4th February

We are running a talk on

Beach-master Training and an explanation of the junior coaching safety protocol, on Sunday 4th February at 3pm in the NYC.

We encourage anyone involved with our junior section to attend, as it would be of great benefit to them.

Baltimore early-bird deadline extended to 10pm Friday the 12th January

The deadline for availing of the early-bird discounted entry for Baltimore Spring Training Week has been extended to 10pm Friday the 12th January.  

This year sees the beginning of a revamping of the Baltimore Spring Camp with the goal of making it the premier Optimist training event in the Irish sailing calendar. A feature of this plan sees IODAI investing in enhancing the quality of the training at all levels. More structured training programmes will ensure that a higher level of skills will be acquired by all sailors. Performance sailors will benefit from more focused coaching, while an increased number of senior coaches will ensure that all sailors benefit from the expertise they bring.  Main features include:

DOGs Winter Programme 2017

We will be running our Dun Laoghaire Optimist Group (DOG’s) training programme over the winter in conjunction with the RStGYC and RIYC.

Dates are: October – 1st, 8th, 14th, 15th, 22nd, November – 11th, 12th, 19th, 26th, December – 2nd, 3rd, 10th

This programme is open to Optimist sailors who have qualified for the Irish Selection Trials in April. The coaching will be provided by a mix of Irish and 8 Days a Week coaches and there is a total of 28 sessions running through to the Trials event.

The cost of the programme is €1,395 and is payable in 3 instalments of €465, the second of which can be paid using this link
