Optimist Ulster’s (Skerries) – NYC Pre-Event Main fleet coaching

The club intends to provide a weekend of pre-event coaching ahead of the Optimist Ulsters, run from the club, for Main Fleet sailors.

  • Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May.
  • Cost – €60
  • Times 9:30am-4:40pm
  • Max number 8
  • Please register by Monday 13th May
  • This program is not open to sailors in the ‘Regatta Fleet’, as they receive coaching from IODAI.

The NYC Junior Section is delighted to be able to offer coaching for Optimist Sailors on Friday evenings during May and June. We are offering coaching for three groups of sailors, depending on your child’s experience.

NYC 29er Junior Sailors Medal and Qualify for Youth Worlds at the RYA Youth Nationals in Weymouth 2019

The RYA Youth Nationals 2019, held in the waters off of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour, was both the selection and qualifying event for the Irish team selection for the Youth Worlds 29er class. It was a challenging five day, 11 race competition with conditions varying from winds in excess of 25 kts to dense fog to shifty winds to champagne conditions. On the 4th day of the competition, the 61 strong fleet of 29ers completed an unprecedented 6 races in one marathon day.
