Congratulations to Alan Green and Chris Doorly for winning the NYC F15 Frostbite 2017 Series!

The eagerly anticipated and hotly contested NYC F15 Frostbite series concluded last Saturday with 4 races counting as 2 mini series of 2 races each, a new format experimented with earlier in the series and extremely well received by the competitors.

The NYC would like to thank all the volunteers (committee boat personnel, mark layers) who ran this series and especially Ian Mathews who, for the fifth year in a row, gave up participating in the racing to endorse the role of Race Officer.
Many thanks are also due to John O’Gorman who very kindly provided his cruising boat ‘Hanse Off’ as Committee Boat for the series.

Hot favourites Alan Green and Chris Doorly won the overall series . See results here

Irish Solo Sailior Tom Dolan

This July the 2017 Mini Transat Race, solo sailor Tom Dolan was in the National Yacht Club, to coach some friends out in the bay on an evening of fresh winds.

In June, Dolan got on the podium in the Mini-Fastnet Race despite being fouled by a fishing net. That same month, he was in second in the 500 Mini-en-Mai Race. In May, he finished second in the 500 Mini-en-Mai Race but was leading for a lot of it. And in a much needed development that month, Dolan also signed Smurfit Kappa as a sponsor
