Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta 2017

VOLVO DUN LAOGHAIRE REGATTA AT THE NATIONAL YACHT CLUB
Dear fellow member,
This year’s combined clubs Regatta,
www.dlregatta.org , will be the biggest and best ever – with more boats (400+) and more participants (2,000+) than ever, making it the third biggest sailing event in UK and Ireland this year.
It will be very special, as part of the Harbour 200th program and with the new Classic boat series.
VDLR-2017-SOCIAL-PROGRAMME.
The National Yacht Club is delighted to host the new Classic class, who will be moored on temporary pontoons in front of the club, and we want to be providing a warm welcome to their crews, and to the many guests from the other clubs, who will visit our club.
Attached is the detailed social program for the event, with Saturday evening prizegiving at the National Yacht Club at 1900, followed by our Club Regatta dinner.
Prizegiving will be in the Royal St. George Yacht Club on Friday at 1900, while that evening the National Yacht Club will host a major Corporate dinner by event sponsor Collen, who are donating a 105-year-old Trophy, the Collen Cup, for the Winning Wag.
Concurrently, the Classic Class will also be dining in the JB room.
There will be times when the Club will be congested, so I hope you can bear with us, as staff and volunteers do our best to give everyone, especially visitors, a warm National Yacht Club experience.
We will have security on all entrances but a watchful eye of the members is our best protection and please report any suspicions to the security staff.
Well done to the army of National Yacht Club volunteers and member- sponsors who have helped make this event the biggest and best sailing event in Ireland this year, and thank you in advance for your patience and support during peak periods of the event.
