Optimist Starter Coaching with DLH Junior September Series
We will be running our Optimist Starter Coaching again in September to tie in with the Dun Laoghaire Harbour Junior September Series of races.
Coaching is available for the four Sundays of the series starting this Sunday 8th September for level 1 Optimist sailors. Coaching runs from 1100 to 1300 with the aim of teaching our novice Opi sailors rig their boats for racing and to sail a triangular course plus some basic racing tips and rules. If they like they can then race in the Sunday afternoon Junior September Series. This series is raced in the calm waters of the harbour and is an ideal starting point for our young sailors to learn to race. Their morning coach will support and coach them in the afternoon racing. The first gun for the afternoon racing is at 13.55 and the aim is to race 3 races each afternoon.
The sailors will learn in the harbour immediately in front of the club.
Fun is guaranteed but numbers are limited!!
