Finn Lynch Wins Again in Laser Leinsters
NYC Sailor and Ireland’s ISAF Representative in the Laser Radial, Finn Lynch notched up another win at the Leinster Laser Championships in Howth on June 16th – 17th to add to his win at the Ulster Championships in May.
Finn’s consistency was the key to his success with his worst result of the 5 races being a 4th, despite widely varying conditions in the two day event. There were strong winds on Saturday but light winds and rain on Sunday where the Race Officer did well to get off all 3 races for the Standard fleet and 2 races for the Radial and 4.7 fleets.
Sian Kneafsey, also in the Laser Radial, sailed well especially on the second day with 5th and 6th places resulting in 11th overall and 2nd girl in this very competitive fleet.
Suzie O’Neill also battled well in the Laser Radial finishing 28th in the 36 boat fleet.
Rory Lynch had an excellent first day in the Laser standard fleet but found himself on the wrong side of several wind shifts on the second day finishing 7th overall .
There were no NYC representatives in the 4.7 fleet as the 4.7 sailors were in the middle of their Junior Cert exams!
