Topper World Championships China 2018
Winthrop Engineering Ltd wishes the Dublin Topper Team going to China for the World Topper Championship the Best of Luck.
This August the National Yacht Club will be represented by a strong team at the world Topper Championship in China. The Meisha Campus at Longcheer Yacht Club in Shenzhen will be hosting the championship. This year sees a record number over 250 entering the event which will be no bother for our sailors who have trained long and hard over the winter and competed over the summer at all the national events. Our team consists of Hugh O’Connor who ranks number one at the moment along with Natasha Hemeryck who ranks number 3, Eoghan Turner Deirdre Turner and Caoimhe Seymour. Caoimhe Seymour won the recent traveller in the 4.2 sail in Carrickfergus.
The competition will run from 16th August to 21st August and the sailors will be supported on the water by Mark O’Connor and Andrew Irvin courtesy of Winthrop Engineering. The first three days will be qualifying races with our sailors aiming for the Gold Fleet. The championship will be competed then over the third three days. We wish all our sailors the very best of luck.
