NYC juniors went to opposite end of the country this weekend and brought home a considerable haul of medals! At the RYA Northern Ireland Youth Championship at Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club after 2 days and 6 races in beautiful Autumn conditions NYC juniors were awarded the following medals;           Gold medals Heather Spain Laser 4.7 1st girl 2nd overall Ciaran Finegan Laser Radial 1st boy 2nd overall Leah Rickard Optimist 1st girl 1st overall   Silver medals Hugh Perrette Laser 4.7 2nd boy 3rd overall Evie Byrne 2nd girl and 5th overall   Bronze medals Nicole Hemeryck Laser Radial 3rd girl 8th overall Luke Rickard Topper 3rd boy 5th overall   Place Daniel Raymond 5th overall Laser Radial Conor Quinn 9th overall Laser Radial Rory Fekkes 14th overall Laser Radial Loghlen Rickard 15th overall Laser Radial   Meanwhile at the other end of the island the prestigous, invitation only, Junior All Ireland Helmsman Championship was held in Kinsale. Clare Gorman of the National Yacht Club, Dun Laoghaire was crowned Junior All Ireland Girls Champion. She and her crew, fellow NYC junior Nicola Ferguson, were placed 4th after 8 races including one bullet. A considerable acheivement for a sailor more used to single handed boats. Also representing NYC were Dara Donnelly and her crew Cliona Coyle who were 3rd of the girls and 7th overall.
