Tall Ship Voyages – Leaving Belfast end May 2014!

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailtall ship trip  Erratum In a previous post, we advertised places free of charge to participants. This offer was only available to residents of Northern Ireland who benefit from additional grant aids. The following clarification has been made by Sail Training Ireland, the Rep. of Ireland body marketing these Youth Exchange Experiences:

Firstly, we are grateful for your support of sail Training in posting information such as this when it is relevant to your members.

However, this information is incorrect. It was circulated by one of our partner organisations in Northern Ireland (OYTI). The voyage that is referred to is a 15 day voyage for 18-25 year old’s on the 70 metre Dutch Tall Ship “Gulden Leeuw”. It is heavily subsidized by the EU Commissions “Youth in Action” programme and therefore we are able to offer it to Youths in the Republic of Ireland at a rate of €400. (€27 per day). It is a youth exchange programme and therefore we have a partner in Northern Ireland recruiting half of the total 46 trainees. We have filled nearly all of the places in the South at the very fair rate of €400. I believe in fact that it is important for the participants to contribute to the cost of their experience as it creates buy-in and ownership. There are still a small number of places on this voyage at this Rate for Irish Youths and I would be very grateful if you can circulate this to your members. I attach a relevant poster with correct information (see picture) Our core work is to make sail training voyages available to the young people of Ireland and we will continue to keep you informed of voyage opportunities that we coordinate. More information is available at our website Thanks again for your support.
