National Yacht Club

Our first summer course of the season started in blissful sunshine on Tuesday 4^th June  with over 30 enthusiastic sailors taking part.  The highlight of the first week was on the Friday, with our very successful cake day followed by a trip out on the Bay to watch the start of the Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race. With the sun shining, we watched the strong 22 boat fleet start in Scotsmans Bay. There were great cheers for all NYC boats, some of which had our very own instructors on board, including Ben Shanahan, Gavan Walsh, Cúmhaí Quigley, Chris Raymond and Conor Totterdell. Week 2 of the course saw the first Feva Clinic being run in the club. With a mix of both club and private Fevas, we ran a week long double handed course to encourage our Oppie and Topper sailors to experience the thrills of spinnakers and double handed sailing. Ian Richardson lead, the group for the week which was a real success! Our second Feva Clinic will be run during the second week of Course 2, starting June 24^th.
