If the answer to any of the above is NO then this 10 week basic electrical course is for you!  This hands-on course is aimed at the complete novice, NO previous electrical experience is necessary.   • Basic electrical circuits
  • How to use a multimeter
  • Instrument circuits
  • How to read a wiring diagram
  • Battery banks and charging systems
  • Jury rigging emergency circuits
  • Alternator and starter motor trouble shooting
  • Correct cable selection
  • Cable terminating, crimping. soldering
Calculations will also be covered for battery bank sizing, alternator, wind generator and solar panel selection.  Multimeters, tools, soldering irons and demonstration/fault simulation panels will be supplied for the course. €345 including course notes, commencing Monday 26th September 2011 in the National Yacht Club from 8pm to 10.15pm.
