NATIONAL GOLFERS DEFY VOLCANO CHAOS.

Anne Lyons - a great score of 34 points...
Twenty plucky golfers braved the perilous trip to Greystones to play in the Spring outing. Brilliant weather (again) and a lovely course greeted our heroes. Recent maintenance work made putting tricky but this did not deter Peter Ryan and Ann Lyons who posted 34 points each. Alan Dooley was just edged out on the back nine by the Commodore who played some impressive golf.
Tony Corcoran made a welcome return after a long lay-off due to a back injury, no ill effects it seems, as he bagged the longest drive competition.

The Commodore accepts the winner's prize.
Not so lucky were Terry O’Brien and Michael Sweeny who were both stranded by the Icelandic Ash cloud, Terry in Marbella and Michael on the M50 near Swords (no I don’t get it either). Next outing is to Woodenbridge, do not miss this opportunity to play on one of Ireland’s loveliest courses. We hope to have a text information service available for all members of the NYCGS up and running soon, watch for that and keep an eye on the website.
