Laser Leinsters Results and Prize Giving

We had 130 entries in the Laser Leinsters last week-end and, thanks to the use of the Carlisle Pier facilities and the kind permission to pass through the RNLI station, the event went superbly on and off the water!

NYC to host Laser Leinster Championships – 16th & 17th July 2016

The N.Y.C. is delighted to host the Irish Laser Leinster Championships 2016 on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July.

NYC Duo Sean Craig & Alan Green win F15 Southern Championships

As usual Dunmore East didn’t disappoint at the weekend with great Flying Fifteen racing in this picturesque village as well as fantastic hospitality. The winds held steady and a full programme of races was completed with Sean Craig & Alan Green (NYC) winning the event in Frequent Flyer after a consistant series of results from David Gorman & Chris Doorly (NYC) in second and Andy McCleery & Colin Dougan (KYC) in third. TENG TOOLS RIYC REGATTA

Saturday 25th June

‘Finding Saoirse’ – ladies 1720 report

An NYC ladies team recently entered for the 1720 Europeans held in Dun Laoghaire from 16-18 June.
The team are a group of NYC sailing mums who are more normally to be found shoreside, organising junior coaching and racing. They are part of a larger group of mums who regularly sail on the team club boats.

The skipper and team organiser was Fiona Staunton. Fiona is an experienced sailor but the crew were of varying levels of experience and none had prior experience of sailing 1720s. In March, the goal was set for the Europeans Championships, we chartered NYC1, which we have since re-baptised ‘Finding Saoirse’ as it initially proved to be an impossible task, and began to train.
