Replacement launch on its way to Ireland

Following the sad loss of the Club’s launch “Alva”, an extensive search to find a suitable replacement (new or second-hand) was carried out.

We are happy to announce that a French built craft (by Ordoqui Socoa boatyard in South West France) is just on its way from to enter a refit programme in Malahide Boatyard and Marina.

DBSC Announces New Mixed Sportsboat Class for 2016!

Dublin Bay Sailing Club has taken the decision to support the formation of a mixed sportsboat class to join the twenty other classes racing under the Club’s burgee in Dublin Bay. The decision follows a meeting of the Bay’s sportsboats interests earlier this month…more details.

ISA introduces new online ‘Sailing Passport’

The ISA Sailing Passport is an On-line logbook, using the ChecKlick platform, in which each sailor will be able to record their individual sailing activities whether racing, cruising or just having fun on the water, and which, when used in conjunction with ISA Training Courses and ISA Clubs / Training Centres, will also allow participants (and their Instructors) track their progress in acquiring and developing the skills required for that course.

FFAI Announces 2016 Calendar of Events

The Flying Fifteen Association of Ireland has announced its programme of events for 2016, with the highlight, the Championship of Ireland, to be hosted by Cushendall SBC, Co. Antrim.

Association President Keith Poole said: “This looks like a fabulous line up of events, and FFAI are delighted to be returning to Cushendall with our premier event the Championship of Ireland which will be held over three days in July. Click here for the full event calendar

 

Annalise’s and Finn’s promising starts at Rio trials

The two National Yacht Club sailors lead both the mens and womens Irish Olympic Laser Trials in the early stages in Rio.

Annalise Murphy is currently in 13th place in the 44–boat fleet with Aoife Hopkins 28th while, in the mens division, Finn Lynch is 32nd and best of three Irish in the 48–boat fleet. Fionn Lyden is 40th and James Espey, Ireland’s London 2012 representative, is 44th.
