Deadly jellyfish spotted in Dun Laoghaire Harbour!

Dun Laoghaire Harbour Master Simon Coate informs us that a considerable number of Lions Mane jellyfish have been sighted within the harbour!
The Lion’s Mane jellyfish, which can cause anaphylactic shock and death, forced warning notices on beaches on the southside of the city last week that are still in place. – more info here

N.Y.C. End of Season Fun Members’ Race – Thursday 4th September

All members, family and friends are welcome to take part in our End of Season members’ Race taking place on Thursday 4th September from 1830.  This is a fun race and we hope to see you all, from dinghies (inc. Moth!) to Flying Fifteens to SB20s and all keelboat classes including non-racers!!

NYC girls take Optimist team Nationals

For the first time since 1983 the National Yacht Club has won the best senior team award at the Optimist National Championships held at the Royal Cork Yacht Club.

RS Feva Nationals

Galway Bay Sailing Club hosted the RS Feva Nationals from the 8th to the 10th of August.  The event was run in conjunction with the RS200 and RS400.

4 NYC members taking part in Round Britain & Ireland Race!

4 NYC members (Damian Foxall, Liam Coyne, Ben Lynch, Brian Flahive) are taking part in this amazing 1,800 NM challenge; the Round Britain and Ireland Yacht Race starting on Sunday 10th August.

Repeat Success for Finn & Conor at the Laser Leinsters

NYC had a good turnout of Laser sailors at the Laser Leinsters held in Dunmore East at the August Bank Holiday weekend with 8 NYC sailors at the event.
