Annalise Murphy returned to her home Club to a rapturous reception last night.
A huge crowd (over 2,000) turned out to greet Ireland’s silver medal winning Olympian, who arrived into the port in a flotilla and was totally taken aback by the Club’s reception which she thought would be a ‘small affair’ in the JB Room.
A night to remember – dramatic arrival by water, lots of juniors involved who will be so inspired by Annalise,
The Dun Laoghaire (and beyond!) sailing community were welcomed in our Club and enjoyed the NYC hospitality!
With only 5 days for planning and execution, it was a real team effort by all!!

In honour of Annalise’s Olympic Silver medal and the fine performance of Finn Lynch and the ISA squad at Rio 2016, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council will host a major public homecoming in the People Park Dun Laoghaire at 6.30 pm on Thursday 25th August.
