Golf Outing to St Anne’s – Report

FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailOnce again, to bright sunny skies the NYC golfers took to the links at St Anne’s Golf Club on Bull Island.  The course was in superb condition, and for the first time in a long time, we had scores in the 40’s.  In all, 35 Golfers turned up, this time with a mini-team from the Royal St George and a few very welcome new faces. The winner was Sam Dooley (40pts) playing off 19, but not for long according to the handicap Sec, and the runner up was also a visitor, Martin Quirke (40pts) who looks very like Ernie Els and was guesting on Joe Coughlan’s team.  Best Lady was Isolda McKenna from the RStGYC, and the winning team was Bernice McCarthy’s team of Isolda and Anne-Marie McGorish. A most enjoyable dinner followed back at the National. Our next outing is on Friday 12th November to Greystones Golf Club.  The Tee is booked from 11am and this time the cost will include a ‘special’ bar supper (more details to follow), this will also be restricted to the first 32 to book.
