Golfer of the Year – Three outings to go It’s all to play for in the Men’s title race.  Long time leader Alan Dooley has fallen away a bit but can still do damage but will need to score heavily in St Anne’s to make up lost ground.  Roger Bannon, who started slowly has put together a string of impressive scores to lead from Cork’s one and only Joe Buckley.  Perpetual runner’s up, Peter Ryan and Brendan MacConville fill out the top five.  These two need something special to make any impression on the top three, nothing they have done to date would indicate that this is on the cards. With one discard the table looks like this:

5. Brendan MacConville – 125

The Ladies title is much closer.  Cathy Dooley and Roni Dunn have lost their way a bit allowing Ann Irwin and Anne Lyons get by.  Anne McQuaid is now snapping at their heels.  Mary Wharton is just outside the top five and a few good scores could bring her into contention.
