CORK HAD A LONG OVERDUE WIN in Woodenbridge as Joe Buckley stormed home with a birdie at the last to pip Terry O’Brien who also carded a fine score. Cathy Dooley, who has been quietly impressive this year, moved her game up a notch to take the Ladies prize.

Team prizes went to the Rebel County as well, Bernie Buckley leading Ted McCourt and Terry O’Brien to the Men’s title. The Ladies team title went to Linda Corcoran, Maura O’Donovan, Geraldine Tennyson and Teresa Muldoon.

Woodenbridge, badly mauled by the Avoca River in the winter storms, was in miraculously good condition. Great credit is due to the Co. Wicklow club for repairing such extensive damage so quickly. As we sat down to a convivial supper in the clubhouse and marveled at the views on all sides the consensus was; we’ll be back!

FOGRA. A smart black kit bag was left in Woodenbridge. It is now in the office in the NYC.

AGUS FOGRA EILE. Golfer of the Year, for both genders, is becoming most interesting. More in the next bulletin.
