F15 Class annual dinner sets new standard in entertainment!

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailf15-strictly-come-dancing Five Flying Fifteen couples danced the salsa, jive and cha cha cha for the Flying Fifteen Glitter Ball Trophy (yes, literally, that is all that was on offer for their troubles!)  last Friday night at the Club. Four judges voted Dun Laoghaire sailors Niall Meagher and Bernie Mulvin the winners but only after a dance– off. The evening was a fantastic success with ‘Master of Ceremony’ Ken Dumpleton as natural in the role as any  professional TV presenter would be and judges who were easily a match for the X-factor quartet of celebrities!! All competitors went through the mill of six weeks in training with a professional dance coach and took the competition both extremely seriously but also with great humour! The themed night was the brain child of Ian Mathews but many Flying Fifteen  rallied behind to produce an hilarious and informative information booklet as well as professional lighting and sound mixing equipment on the night. So, a true team-spirit effort for a truly spirited night that all in attendance (over 100) thoroughly enjoyed…much more so than the competitors before their relieving performance! The F15 annual dinner was also in support of ‘Merchant Quay’, a truly deserving charity providing food and shelter for the homeless and victims of drug addiction (https://www.mqi.ie) Watch the video below for a glimpse at the winning performance!
