National Yacht Club

On Friday 22nd January two members of the National Yacht Club treated a packed dining room to a spectacular talk and presentation of photographs. Eric Luke has been a staff photographer for over 35 years and is currently with the Irish Times. He is a past winner of the Press Photographer Association or Ireland’s “Photographer of the Year” and prize-winner in the World Press Photo competition.       Michael Chester is an award winning free-lance photographer. His company is called “Chester”. He specialises in Sport Action shots and has a great interest in Motor Racing. He is also famous for his celebrity photographs.   Eric related the background to many of his historic press photographs and the difficulty in taking them. Michael told some amusing stories mainly about his photographs of celebrities. After the presentation the enthusiastic audience joined on a lively question and answer session. For those interested in photography and also for those who just like looking at photographs, this was a most interesting and informative event.
