Fashion Show and Lunch on Friday 9th April 2010 in aid of the CBC Monkstown Park Zambia Immersion Project.
This project is an initiative by CBC Monkstown where a group of boys from 4th and 5th year go to a community in Zambia to provide assistance in the schools and in the community in general for 3 weeks every year/18 months. The boys help in the schools and clinics and they do a variety of community work, and they bring as much school materials and clothes as they can to give to the families. It is a tough 3 weeks for them, they work hard and they experience first-hand the vivid realities of HIV/AIDS and poverty in Africa. It is a life-altering experience for them.
We would be very grateful for members’ support for this lunch. The ticket price is €40, there will be a glass of bubbly to welcome guests, followed by a four-course lunch. Tony Toner, of the Institute of Advanced Motoring is the Speaker, and Michael Sheridan of RTE is the MC for the fashion Show. A raffle will follow, and if you would like to donate a prize we would be very grateful. Fran & Jane are providing the ladies’ fashions, and Diffney for Men and Debenhams the mens’ fashions.
