Re: APPOINTMENT OF CLUB COACH
It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Russell Mc Govern to the new position of Club Sailing Coach of the National Yacht Club.
Russell shall be primarily involved in the coaching of our Junior and Youth members and potential Olympians, but will also be available to coach our members in the various classes and types of boats they sail from the Club. Russell’s appointment will ensure that the members of the NYC have easy access to top class coaching and help maintain and enhance the National Yacht Club’s position as a leading sailing club and a centre of sailing excellence.
Russell has up to recently being campaigning in the Olympic 49er class on a full time basis, achieving a top twenty world ranking. He was Ireland’s top ranked Laser sailor prior to his 49er sailing and has extensive experience in racing and coaching many different classes up to Volvo 60’s. Russell is a fully RYA qualified international racing and powerboat coach, a member of Ballyholme Yacht Club in Bangor, Co. Down and is 27 years of age.
He will be based in the training office on the lower ground floor of the Club and may be contacted by email through our Sailing Manager, Olivier Prouveur
I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Russell on his appointment and look forward to his contribution in the new post.
